It's hard to believe a year ago today we welcomed our wonderful baby girl into our lives. I knew our lives were going to change, I just couldn't even begin to imagine how much everything would change for the better! Here's a look back at our little Goose's first year. Stay tuned for pictures from her birthday party.
I know that this isn't technically from Goose's first year, but going through pictures I found this from my pregnancy. I didn't realize just how BIG I got until I looked back at this picture taken 6 weeks before she was born.
This was technically the 19th since my induction took 2 days. Notice I am still happy to be there. I am glad that this picture is taken early in the day rather than later in the day when I started getting frustrated no progress was being made.
Our first family picture.
Getting ready to leave the hospital. She was swimming in this little outfit that I was worried would be too small. Oh well, shows what first time parents don't know :)
First week or so home.
First shopping trip with Grammy and Mommy.
I loved these onesies from Uncle Ry.
I loved this picture. She is so happy. This is when she started laughing and was oh so proud of herself.
Uncle Ry though he should start the New York thing early. This was the morning of Goose's Baptism.
Our little pumpkin was trying to figure out what was oozing from Nana and Papa's glass.
Watching the Jayhawks with Daddy.
Our first cereal experience.
This was the only picture we got with Santa before the photographer got an annoying little toy out that scared the heck out of our little Goose.
I think Uncle Ry is working on figuring out who this bib belongs on.
Got to love uncles and their ability to dress a baby. Uncle Paul seemed to think her bow should function more like a sweat band.
Great Grammy, Great Papa and Great Aunt Sandy couldn't make it down for Christmas, but came shortly after and saw Goose for the first time.
Our first snow experience!
I love this snuggly little look. She was out cold.
Some of my favorite 6 month pictures!
Our little Cheesehead even broke out the touchdown arms during the party.
9 month pictures!
Her first Royals game!!!
Goose was checking out the new puppies at Grammy and Papa's. She is getting more comfortable with them and Charley and Cooper and getting much more comfortable with her.
Memorial Day weekend at the pool. It was cold. I don't blame her for not being pumped.
One of my favorites. Cracks me up that she wanted something so bad she decided to go head first into her toy chest.
Oh happy day with Daddy!
Swimming with Nana while I was in Vegas for a girl's trip.
Cleaning out Daddy's wallet :)
I love this picture of Goose with her friend Ryan. He is a month younger than she is and Goose is just smitten with him. Cracks me up!
Goose was chilling at the St. Louis Zoo.
The last year has been an absolute whirlwind. We've loved every minute of it. I am so excited to see what is in store for us!!!

A little get away
We took a trip to St. Louis this past weekend. The new job meant we had a summer regional conference there. It was a treat. Daddy was in meetings all morning, but Goose and I got to hang out and then be ready for afternoons to play.
Friday afternoon we went to the zoo. I have to say, it wasn't a stellar day for the St. Louis Zoo, there were far too many people there, it's under construction and there weren't many animals in their habitats. Nevertheless, here is a bit of what Daddy captured.
Happy Tuesday!

I love this one. It looks like she is straining to see the animals. Unfortunately, I think she saw more human rear ends than she did any animals. Most people weren't very aware of their surroundings. She had a good time, regardless.
Happy Tuesday!

Looking in to the future...
Could this be a sign of things to come? Goose got her hands on Daddy's wallet. You can see what happened next.
I love this one. I think she is saying, "Uh-oh. I'm busted. So how much trouble am I in?"
Then she realized no one was upset and she was proud of herself. I just keep telling myself it won't be long before she is figuratively emptying our wallets, not just literally.
Happy Thursday!

First Day of Pool!!
Our little Nemo had her first aquatic foray this Memorial Day weekend. Adorned in her seemingly ceremonial garb, our overgrown sunflower could hardly contain her glee.
When we got back to the house, Goose had a bath and dinner. Then it was head first into the toy chest for the remainder of the evening.
Happy Memorial Day, all.
Mommy gave it the first go with dip in the baby pool. Goose was gun-ho, at first. Unfazed by the cool water temperature, she seemed in her natural habitat.
She was a little more unsure about the full sized pool, but we did our best to encourage her. Mommy and Daddy both got a turn

Goose's First Baseball Game
We wanted a family night before Daddy left for St. Louis for the week today. We decided it was a perfect time for Goose's first baseball game. The weather was beautiful. The Royals were playing the Twins. Goose even got an official first game certificate and a baseball from the ball boy. In my mind, this is much better than Daddy having to catch a pop fly to protect his girls.
Here's the only picture we took. Unfortunately, we forgot our camera.
Yes, she is up at the end of the game. This probably has something to do with the gentleman that had a bit too much and kept shouting, "Don't wake the baby! Don't wake the baby!" She slept through about 45 minutes of it and on his final try he did successfully wake her.

Go Royals!!!

Happy Easter!
What a wonderful day we get to celebrate. I withheld a few of Goose's 9 month pictures as they were much more Easter-themed so why not save them for this post.
So the rocking chair didn't so much work. It meant she was at eye level with the chicks. We figured she would be okay with them given the dogs she is around all the time. Chicks were apparently just too much for her. We had to find a new way to get those Spring chicks in the pictures though. They were just too cute!
Our little Goose didn't think they were too bad when they weren't at her eye level.
We tried to put the bunny with her on the rocking chair. We didn't even get a picture of that because she launched herself out of the chair and into my awaiting arms. So we tried a different route. I love this picture. The bunny, Oreo, was checking her out, but she didn't have a clue he was even behind her.
The look on her face cracks me up in this picture. She has a look in her eye that just spells mischief. As you can see, Oreo decided he didn't want anything to do with it.
Have a wonderful and happy Easter! Enjoy time with your family and friends. We plan to.
This is maybe Daddy's favorite picture. He thinks it is quite funny that it went so totally awry. I have to say - it is pretty funny.

9 Month Pictures!
We took our little Goose to get 9 month pictures today (we're a few days early). It is hard to believe that she is almost 9 months old already. She is growing and learning so quickly (her daddy and I are trying hard to keep up). Here's a sneak peek at some of the pictures.
Goose was hamming it up for the camera. She was all smiles in the dress from Great Grandma G.
The white was cute, but we thought we might try a little different look. Goose was just trying to get the fun flowers they had.
We changed outfits while the lovely photographer changed the backdrop back. Goose thought she was a pretty big deal in the big rocking chair once she got comfortable.
I love this backdrop. It is just so fun!
Our little Goose had enough. She was a real trooper, but was crawling away by the end of our 30 minutes. I hope you enjoy!
