Sport filled weekend

We went to the Sporting KC game this Friday. It was a first for all of us. Daddy got some great pictures from the game.

Our Jayhawks played on Saturday. It wasn't a pretty game, but I think this look said it all. I knew we were a true Jayhawk family, when Goose said she wanted to wear her "hayhawk" dress and bow when she realized it was Saturday. Goose wasn't real in to standing still for pictures, so this is the best we got.

Yea for weekends with family and watching sports!

Heading North

Right after we returned from Nashville, we packed up the car again and headed north for a family wedding. My cousin married his high school sweetheart. The trip north allowed us time to visit with my Dad's side of the family and Goose was able to get to know her "cousins" a little better.

The morning of the wedding, we ate here. It was FANTASTIC!!!! If you're ever in downtown Minneapolis, you should definitely go. This is a shot of the Juevos Rancheros.

Goose hammed it up most of the weekend. She knew how to keep Gaga and Papa's attention and she hammed it up for them all weekend.

The wedding venue was spectacular. It allowed for some fabulous photos of our little Goose.

She got the hang of posing quite quickly. Once she did, she was all about the camera.

When the weekend was over, it was time to head home. Goose sat in the back with Gaga and Papa. Gaga was kind enough to let Goose play with her purse. Goose found the lipstick and went at it from there. Honestly, she did a pretty good job (I think).

Visiting "Unkie Wyan"

"Unkie Wyan" was in a show in Nashville this summer. We took it as a great opportunity to go see his latest work and have a little bit of family bonding time. Gaga and Papa, Grandma Miwwie, Buddy Bawney, and Sanny came along to.

We went to Opry Land. Wow - that is a place we could go back and stay. It would have taken an entire day to explore the entire grounds.

Unkie Wyan finished rehearsal and we went to this yummy Fried Chicken family style restaurant in a converted old house. Here are just a few pics of our feast.

Goose had an absolute hay day with the family style aspect of the restaurant.

We also explored Belle Meade. It is a truly beautiful home with an incredible story.

We road tripped with Papa. This is what the majority of the trip home looked like. Goose had a great time playing with the "myPad." She was completely tuckered out and slept most of the time, thankfully.

Goose's Birthday

I realize I am a little (okay, a lot) behind given that her birthday was almost two months ago. School started and time got a way from me. Here we go though...

On Goose's actual birthday Gaga came over and we went to play for a little while in the afternoon, then Daddy and I took her out to dinner. Here are a few pictures from her actual birth day.

Goose was very into "Mimmie Mouse" this summer. It seemed only fitting for her to enjoy a "Mimmie Mouse" themed party then. I found a dress on Etsy that was adorable. I showed it to Nana and she said, "I'll make it for her." She did look absolutely adorable in it.

I love Pinterest! I got the idea for this sweet little cupcakes and couldn't let it go at that. I found some sweet pink with white polka dot cupcake wraps. If you're having a Minnie Mouse party, you might as well go all out as far as I'm concerned.

Nana didn't want her to get cake on her pretty dress, so she made a matching bib, as well.

Don't let the face fool you, she really did enjoy the "HappyBirthdayDay" (said as one really long word, of course) song.

She was a pro at blowing her candle out.

And even more excited when she realized she could lick the frosting off the bottom of the candle.

She was surrounded by family and friends that loved her. We hope that she felt the love that we did from all of our friends. Here's to another year!!!!
