What happened...

It's hard to believe that Goose is two today! I feel like the older I get, the faster time goes. I don't want this time to rush by. I love her independence (even when she decides to exert it with me) and every bit of her trying to be just like "big people." Here are some snap shots from the last year.

We went to the Pumpkin Patch for the first time,

The Renaissance Festival was lots of fun!

We went to a winery for my Dad's birthday. After the tour and some lunch, we stretched our legs in this awesome field before our drive in to town to explore and then head home.

This is Goose's favorite coat. When given a choice, the "beaw" was definitely the choice

Santa proved to be a bit scary so we had to try the sneaky Santa. I think it turned out perfect.

Christmas morning was a treat at our house. Goose was gifted a bunch of American Girl toys from a dear friend. As you can see, she was taken aback by all of the wonderful new doll things.

This was a nap time surprise I found one afternoon. You may remember this from an earlier post, but Goose woke up from her nap and Daddy said he would go rescue her. After not hearing anything for a while, I went up to check on them. This is what I found...

Little Miss Independent didn't want my help. She wanted to get her toys herself. This is what resulted.

While Daddy and I took a Spring Break ski trip, Papa and Gaga introduced Goose to steamers. She was instantly hooked.

Then, they thought she definitely needed a tree swing. This was when we realized it was definitely time for a swing set.

We took in the Friday Fish Fry's during the Lenten season. Complete with a balloon artist.

Easter proved to be a beautiful day for an Easter Egg Hunt. Goose had a blast. We all laughed as she carried her Easter basket like I carry my purse in the nook of her arm.

This spring Goose got her birthday present early. She wants so much to be a big girl that we struggled to see the point in getting a plastic slide for her to play on when we knew she would prefer a big swing set. Thanks to Gaga, Grandpa, Nana and Papa for chipping in to give her the "wing"set she loves.

Learning to eat corn on the cob.

My cousin stopped through on her way to Texas in the Spring. She brought her little nuggets B & A. We couldn't help but notice the family resemblance in these two little ones. Do you see it?

Goose got her first taste of some yummy BBQ at one of our favorite places. As you can see, she dug right in.

Check out that mullet. It was definitely time for a hair cut. Miss Brandy did a great job and she got this cute little bob cut and I even re-learned the "topsy tail" (circa 1990s) so that we don't have the Pebbles Flintstone look.

I could not do this post without including this picture. The "nack" Goose asked for the most this year was definitely "eerios and ninis." And you had to know that she wasn't going to let me do it. She needed to try it on her own. You can see how well it went.

Hanging out on the horse that Daddy used to play on. The expression on her face shows all of the enjoyment squeals you can't hear through the picture.

Goose loves "wimming." This is her first trip to the pool this summer. Since then, we've made many trips to "wim" at the pool in our neighborhood as well as another trip back to Nana and Grandpa's to hang out in a Goose size pool.

Goose, my mom and I drove to Minnesota to visit family eat the end of June. We made a quick stop at Target and Gaga and Goose decided they needed a quick coffee fix.

4th of July was lots of fun. Goose loved her sno cone and the frog slide at the pool..

Saturday morning treat thanks to Daddy.

Goose and I just got back from a trip to "Gamma Millie's", "Buddy Barney's", and "Sanny's" house. While there, Gaga thought that teaching our little one new tricks would be fun. I have to say, I didn't think there was anyway that her little button nose could hold a spoon. As you can see, I was wrong.

I got this picture from daycare yesterday. I took mini blueberry muffins and everyone sat downstairs and sang to her. As you can see, she seemed to be pretty laid back even with all of the action.

I can't believe that the last year has flown by. Looking through our pictures from the last year, I am just amazed at how much our little Goose is grown. I look forward to see what this next year will bring to our little Goose.

Happy Birthday, Goose!

Happy 4th of July!!!

In the true spirit of July 4th, we spent time today with our families.

The morning started with a bike parade through Gaga and Papa's neighborhood. (I didn't get any pictures, I know, I know.) After the parade, everyone headed to the pool parking lot for some good old fashion neighborhood bonding.

Papa thought Goose needed her first sno cone. It is just ice (no syrup), but she would eat ice all day long if we would let her.

She liked the first one so much Papa got her a second one, then the fire truck showed up. Goose became a "Junior Firefighter" and had a great time hanging out with Gaga.

I love this picture. She was checking out all of the different things on the ladder truck the firefighters were showing off. Plus the kids were getting to sit in the back seat.

Here she is waiting in line for her turn. She did wait ever so patiently.

Once she got in there, she realized that it wasn't quite as cool as she thought it was going to be. She wanted out almost immediately. The firefighter wouldn't even let Papa take his arm out to get a pic.

After Gaga and Papa's we went to see Nana and Papa. We went to the pool that they belong to. Goose thought she was in seventh heaven. They have an entire pool that is just for kids including a water slide. She must have been up and down that "swide" 25 times today in between "wimming."
