Goose's First Baseball Game

We wanted a family night before Daddy left for St. Louis for the week today. We decided it was a perfect time for Goose's first baseball game. The weather was beautiful. The Royals were playing the Twins. Goose even got an official first game certificate and a baseball from the ball boy. In my mind, this is much better than Daddy having to catch a pop fly to protect his girls.

Here's the only picture we took. Unfortunately, we forgot our camera.

Yes, she is up at the end of the game. This probably has something to do with the gentleman that had a bit too much and kept shouting, "Don't wake the baby! Don't wake the baby!" She slept through about 45 minutes of it and on his final try he did successfully wake her.

Go Royals!!!

Happy Easter!

What a wonderful day we get to celebrate. I withheld a few of Goose's 9 month pictures as they were much more Easter-themed so why not save them for this post.

This is maybe Daddy's favorite picture. He thinks it is quite funny that it went so totally awry. I have to say - it is pretty funny.

So the rocking chair didn't so much work. It meant she was at eye level with the chicks. We figured she would be okay with them given the dogs she is around all the time. Chicks were apparently just too much for her. We had to find a new way to get those Spring chicks in the pictures though. They were just too cute!

Our little Goose didn't think they were too bad when they weren't at her eye level.

We tried to put the bunny with her on the rocking chair. We didn't even get a picture of that because she launched herself out of the chair and into my awaiting arms. So we tried a different route. I love this picture. The bunny, Oreo, was checking her out, but she didn't have a clue he was even behind her.

Oreo decided she wasn't going to hurt him, so he moved on to check out the rest of the studio.

The look on her face cracks me up in this picture. She has a look in her eye that just spells mischief. As you can see, Oreo decided he didn't want anything to do with it.

Have a wonderful and happy Easter! Enjoy time with your family and friends. We plan to.

9 Month Pictures!

We took our little Goose to get 9 month pictures today (we're a few days early). It is hard to believe that she is almost 9 months old already. She is growing and learning so quickly (her daddy and I are trying hard to keep up). Here's a sneak peek at some of the pictures.

Goose was hamming it up for the camera. She was all smiles in the dress from Great Grandma G.

The white was cute, but we thought we might try a little different look. Goose was just trying to get the fun flowers they had.

We changed outfits while the lovely photographer changed the backdrop back. Goose thought she was a pretty big deal in the big rocking chair once she got comfortable.

I love this backdrop. It is just so fun!

Our little Goose had enough. She was a real trooper, but was crawling away by the end of our 30 minutes. I hope you enjoy!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

What a wonderful day it is in Rock Chalk world. The weather is gorgeous. Definitely not the snow we had Sunday night and Monday morning. I am enjoying every minute of Spring Break with our little Goose. It's delightful to get this extra time with her. Once again, she was thoughtful enough to not hit her milestone before I was home and spending time with her. (Yes, I know this is hardly what is going on. But a mom can dream, right?)

Here it is, we needed to catch it on video so that it could truly be shared.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I know when she is old enough to realize I sent this to our family and friends she will be upset. But there is only so long that the naked baby pic is cute.

Have a wonderful Valentine's Day from our little Cupid!

Go Pack Go!

Our little Goose most definitely had to be a Packer Backer yesterday. Here are just a couple of pics.

Happy Monday!

Blizzard of Oz

I'm not sure if I've ever been in a blizzard warning, but there's a first time for everything and this seems like a good occasion for me to make my first post!

I just got back in from romping around in the 8+ inches of snow and snapping a few photos. The ruler to the right will remain outside until the end of the storm. I'm guessing we'll have to dig it out in the morning as we are expecting about 6 more hours of steady snowfall.

(Above) A snow drift formed along our north-facing fence line. It was amazing how thin the lip was on the top. Just a few flakes wide.

Charlotte joined me in the fun. I always wonder if she gets cold in weather like this. Do her paws get frozen? Then I think... "she's a dog and dogs are made to hang out in the cold and snow." Right? Maybe some doggy shoes are in order. Ha.

I'm back inside now, warming up with a hot chocolate and my girls. A fire is in order tonight, maybe some board games and a little college basketball. A nice quiet morning in a shut-down city, followed by shoveling out. Seems like a good day to work from home.

Here's to "Blizzard 2011," aka, "Snowmageddon," "Snowpocalypse," "Snow My God" (We don't get many big storms like this in KC...)

Stay inside, stay warm and we'll all emerge in a few days.

Cheers,
Daddy D
