Big Milestone

We gave up the ghost and Goose got her very first haircut tonight. She did pretty well. Here is a glimpse at our adventure.

She definitely rocked her mullet-esque hair for long enough. Here is a shot from the waiting area.

When it was our turn, Goose got to pick out which station she wanted to sit at based on the "chair."

She bypassed all of the girly cars and decided on this one. She was perfectly content, she had a new toy to play with. Then, Miss Brandy brought out the cape. That was enough to warrant a sucker. After that, it was smooth sailing.

She took off over 2 inches to cut our little Goose's hair in to a sweet little bob.

Happy Feet kept her attention.

Then the camera proved super exciting.

The end didn't go as smoothly as the rest, so this is the only picture we got at the salon.

However, here are a few I took on my phone when we got home in case you're curious what the end result looked like.

BBQ Weekend

When Daddy got back, he was in the mood for some BBQ. We headed out to our favorite BBQ place in town. Goose got her very own pulled pork kid's meal and looked like an old pro. Here is a snapshot of our lunch.

While Daddy's away...

Daddy headed South on business for a couple of days last week. This mean that Goose and I spent a couple of dinners with Gaga and Papa. I couldn't help but share this picture. We were eating ribs and corn on the cob, but Goose is all about being a big girl right now. She wants to be just like the people she is with. We gave her the corn on the cob, but she would not eat it until she got her handles. It was just adorable!!! (Yes, I know I'm biased!)

Easter

Easter was beautiful in Rock Chalk Land his year. At Gaga and Papa's our little Goose absolutely loved hunting for her Easter basket and then enjoying the goldfish that she found inside.

Then it was off to Nana and Grandpa's for an Easter Egg Hunt. It wasn't long before she spotted her first little egg.

Then, it was time to put it in the basket.
As you can see it took her a while to figure out that she needs to carry the basket.

Once she discovered what was inside she was all over carrying her loot.

She was very proud of her hunting skills.

Then she discovered if Nana held the basket she could get from egg to egg faster.

She must have felt like she was missing something, because it didn't take long for her to start toting her basket along again.

Nana and Grandpa's backyard proved a great place for eggs to hide.

It was time to check out the loot. I think our little Goose is stocked up on Goldfish, batteries and her piggy bank is getting full.

We hope that this Easter season found you enjoying the things in life that matter!

Spring Break

Since we had not been away alone together since our honeymoon (3.5 years ago). We decided to take advantage of Spring Break this year and take a trip to Breckenridge to get back to skiing. Here are some pictures from our trip and from Goose's get away to Grammy and Papa's.

We had an absolute blast. The sun was shining the entire time and the scenery was fantastic.

I would like to say that I think that Goose noticed we were gone. However,  I am going to guess that we were hardly missed.

The day we dropped her off, Lucy got to go to coffee with Gaga and Papa.

Then, she went shopping. No, she did not actually get the bike, but she thought she would take it for a test "ride."

Shopping can work up a girl's appetite. It was snack time. She had no problem opening wide.

At the end of the day, she got to explore all the animals and fish at Bass Pro Shop. She was less than thrilled with the taxodermy, but enjoyed the fish and getting to stretch her legs.

This girl was not about to give up her yogurt to go to bed.

Coffee seems to be a morning ritual so Goose got in on the fun. She was able to enjoy milk steamers so she felt like a big kid. She had a blast. Steamers and scones seemed to be the breakfast of champions for the week.

It was shopping time. We sorely misjudged when we packed. It was unseasonably warm here in Rock Chalk land and so Gaga and Papa took Goose shopping for a few new items. This was a contender, but ended up getting left at the store.

We even got a goodnight wave that night.

Papa and Gaga thought that a tree swing would be a fun new addition. They searched high and low to find the best (read: safest) swing in town. It was a gigantic hit. Notice the different outfits? This is not after wardrobe changes, just day after day of "wing, Gaga (or Papa), wing"

Goose was able to enjoy some tasty barbecued ribs. She dug right in.

Goose was intrigued with the mini rubber duckie. She was hanging out getting ready to go shopping, again. According to Gaga, "That's what girls do on vacation."

One last trip for coffee started with her wanting to be a big girl and drink out of Gaga's cup.

Then it was a milk steamer and a scone.

Then it was off to check out the daffodils that were in bloom already.

You would think that she would have been stuffed. This girl likes to get her hands dirty when she eats.

For one last adventure, Gaga and Papa took Goose out for pizza. She was not sure how she felt about Chuck E, but the rides were alright.

Friday Fish Frys are always fun during Lent. We took Goose to see Nana and Grandpa when we got back. Here are a few of the highlights from the fish fry.

Happy Spring!
